The new Flemish
Single kit is based very closely on the building practices of the Ruckers
family in 17th century Antwerp, although the case has been enlarged to allow
for a full GG-d compass, transposing without loss of the top note
between A415 and A440. A variety of options are available, as detailed in The Paris
Workshop catalogue. The newly redesigned Paris Workshop Flemish Double is perhaps the most versatile instrument. With its 2x8, 1x4 disposition and French-style shove coupler, this harpsichord can play most of the harpsichord literature, yet it is relatively easy to transport and is exceptionally stable. |
