Instruments
signed Marc Ducornet are considered
among the finest harpsichords in the world and are carefully based on original instruments
in the French, Flemish, German, and Italian traditions. Note especially the French double
after Hemsch and the careful copy of the Colmar Ruckers. A full line of harpsichords,
spinets, virginals, clavichords, and fortepianos is described in the Marc Ducornet
catalogue, available free from Gerald Self. These instruments
are built as they should be built, and therefore few options other than details of
decoration are offered. The instruments are normally supplied with table stands and padded
covers. |
